Women in Design, India is a collective impact initiative striving to expand narratives through design — tackling the inherently biased representation of plural perspectives through history, we advocate for a transitional future documenting a diverse set of perspectives, experiences, talent and creativity.

South Asia has achieved 63.4% gender parity, ranking second-lowest among eight global regions, with only a 1.1% rise from 2022 to 2023. The Global Gender Gap Index 2023 paints a sobering picture of slowed progress post-pandemic. Despite a 4.1% improvement since 2006, the journey towards full parity in South Asia is projected to take an overwhelming 149 years at the current rate, underscoring the urgent need for collective action and unwavering commitment.
